Be a Volunteer

Spring will be here soon, and the flowers will begin to bloom. If you have any type of horticulture experience, or just enjoy being in the garden, Redwood wants you to be a volunteer. Redwood clients use the garden as an outdoor, hands-on classroom, and volunteers are needed for upkeep of this classroom.

Thank you for your interest in being a Redwood volunteer! Please fill out the volunteer application below.  If you would prefer, you can download the application by clicking here.

There are many opportunities for youth, adults, and seniors to touch someone each day with kindness and caring.

  • Sing a lullaby and rock our babies to sleep
  • Read a story to a small child
  • Take an adult in a wheelchair on a stroll through our gardens
  • Help a teenager play a board game with a friend
  • Teach an individual to do a simple task
  • Participate in a group project or serve on a committee
  • Use Redwood for team building projects or activities
  • Design your own volunteer experience based on your interests and skills

Corporate Volunteer Groups are welcome for team building and community service projects.  These opportunities include:

  • Landscaping and weeding our gardens
  • Hosting a talent show for adults
  • Cleaning classrooms to ensure a sanitary learning environment
  • Preparing the playground equipment for climate changes
  • Other needs of Redwood that might suit the skills of your group
