Children's Scholarship Fund

Redwood established the Caring for Kids needs-based scholarship fund in 2005 to help children with disabilities access the enriching Early Childhood Childcare Program.   This program provides a safe and stimulating learning environment for children of all types of disabilities.  Children with special needs require much more individualized childcare due to the nature of their condition and the special care it requires… such as nursing support, lower staff/child ratios, smaller group sizes and specialized staff.   And… these children still require childcare services as they advance through the elementary and into the high school years.

It is necessary to charge a fee for childcare.  Redwood’s fees are in the middle range as compared to other childcare providers in Northern Kentucky.  The program is subsidized by grants and donations, so that each family’s financial share is significantly less than the actual cost of providing those services.  Unfortunately, some families experience financial difficulties and require assistance.  The Caring for Kids Scholarship Program helps to ease some of their financial hardship and allows their child to continue to attend Redwood to receive the services the child so desperately needs.
