Computer Learning Center

 

The Computer Learning Center is a unique, educational program that empowers adults with disabilities to meet educational, vocational and life skill competence through computer learning experiences or small computer classes. Students receive computer skills training to meet their community employment occupational/vocational goals. In conjunction with Redwood's employment services program, adults learn skills that will help them to achieve independence in job placements. 

 
The Computer Learning Center offers…
  • Small class size – 8 students max
  • Formal instruction with hands-on activities
  • Adapted curriculum
  • Assistive technology support
  • Individualized assistance during computer lab
  • Nursing and personal care assistance
  • Free coursework (during pilot)
 
Coursework features:
  • Data entry (keyboarding & 10-key)
  • Introduction to the computer
  • Introduction to the Internet
  • Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access
  • Electronic Communication
  • Career and professional development
  • General Office Skills
