Integrated Therapy

Redwood has occupational therapists, physical therapists and speech therapists that work with children in direct therapy and in consultation.

Occupational therapists work on developing skills related to the normal “occupations” of living such as eating, dressing and participation in educational, work and leisure activities.

Physical therapists focus on enhancing skills related to movement and daily functional activities. Treatment develops gross motor and ambulatory skills and determines positioning and equipment needs. Physical therapists complete wheel chair evaluations and work with vendors to assure the best equipment fit for an individual.

Speech and Language therapy helps children and adults develop functional communication skills. This could include augmentative communication, sign language, increasing vocabulary, developing oral motor and articulation skills, and understanding of speech.

For more information about Redwood's Therapy programs, please contact Peggy Farmer, Director of Integrated Therapy by email or call 859.331.0880 ext. 249.
