Goods at the Wood
Redwood’s Goods at the Wood is a client run social enterprise that combines an onsite convenience store and design center. Client employees sell snacks and beverages to staff and clients and learn valuable job skills in a retail environment. Additionally, in partnership with our Vocational Day Training, client employees sort, price and sell various home goods donated through the community and our subcontractors. The design center allows client employees to design, customize and produce clothing, tumblers, bags and various other items commissioned by community partners, peers and Redwood staff.
Hear from a Redwood Parent
I came to Redwood back in 1994, when my daughter Taylor who currently goes to the adult program, started coming to Redwood’s summer program. In 1998, we lived up in Ohio where there was no after school care for children after the age of six. So, we decided to move to Kentucky so that Taylor could go to the after-school programs at Redwood. Redwood has impacted me in the fact that Taylor comes to Redwood and has been in the adult program since she was 21 and she is now 31. When Taylor was smaller, Redwood gave me the ability to continue working and now it gives Taylor the ability to bloom as a person and she just loves it.
