At Redwood, adults with a wide range of disabilities can learn the skills to obtain a Driver’s Permit through our six-week Driver’s Permit Training program. This class is open to people with and without disabilities.
Adult Day Supports programs foster dignity, self-direction, increased independence, and improved quality.Through social interaction, purposeful activity, and leisure experiences, Adult Mentors provide highly individualized training.
Employment, including the kind of work one performs, is empowering. It influences identity and sense of belonging. Employment is an opportunity to contribute — to do something that matters.
Program funded by the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation. Individuals receive instruction on the Kentucky Driver’s Manual in preparation for the Driver’s Permit Examination. The teaching method is aligned to the learning style of the student. The six-week course is typically held weekly for a two-hour session at Redwood, local libraries or local schools as space is available. Class schedule is based on community interest and instructor availability.
