Therapy sessions are play-oriented with many strategies implemented in Redwood’s state of the art sensory gyms.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists work with children and adults to help them develop, recover, improve, as well as maintain the skills needed for daily living at school, work or home. These include:
- Eating with increased independence
- Taking part in play or leisure activities
- Self-care activities
- Working
- Completing household tasks like laundry or cleaning
Clients improve their fine and gross motor skills, hand function, motor planning, balance and coordination through occupational therapy.

OT Interventions
- Fine motor activities, such as stringing beads, doing puzzles, and cutting with scissors to help develop coordination, focus and body awareness
- Play activities to help with interaction, expression of feelings and communication
- Self-help activities, such as toilet training, brushing teeth and combing hair
- Coping strategies to help with self-regulation and transitions
- Social skills practice to help with peer and adult interactions
Assistive Technology
Adapted toys and other modifications allow children to participate in the same activities as their peers.
