Diagnoses and Interventions

Redwood speech therapists assist individuals who have the following diagnoses, delays or disorders.

Diagnoses:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Down syndrome
  • Cerebral Palsy

  • Childhood Apraxia of Speech

Delay or Disorder:

  • Receptive language (understanding messages)
  • Expressive language (sharing thoughts, ideas, requests, needs and feelings)
  • Social communication (using verbal and non-verbal communication with others socially)
  • Articulation (producing speech sounds correctly)
  • Fluency (expressing messages in a fluent manner)
  • Cognitive communication (organizing thoughts, paying attention, planning or problem solving)

Treatment Interventions include:

  • Speech-Language Assessment

  • Development of a Home Program that embeds speech strategies into families everyday activities
